Russia, China, India, Brazil, Indonesia, and Kazakhstan received prizes at the BRICS Youth Science Olympiad
The closing ceremony of the first BRICS Youth Festival took place today at the Zheleznodorozhnikov recreational center
The main highlight of the gala concert was the presentation of awards to the winners of the science competitions - Olympiads in mathematics and computer science, which brought together students from 13 different countries.
Evgenia Lodvigova, Vice Mayor of Kazan, greeted the festival participants.
«Unfortunately, our festival is ending. I want to thank you so much for coming. Most importantly, when you return home, I would like you to tell all your friends, your parents, and your loved ones about Russia and Kazan, the city you visited. I hope that one day you will come back here,»- Evgenia Lodvigova addressed the participants.
The announcement of the results of the Olympiads took place at the closing ceremony. The Olympiads took place on September 23 and 24 at Kazan Federal University. As many as 131 talented students aged 14-17 from 35 different municipalities from13 countries participated in the science competitions.
Four teams earned gold medals, two from Russia and two from Kazakhstan. Three teams from China, Turkey and Belarus received silver medals. Eight teams received bronze medals, including teams from India, Indonesia, China, Belarus, and two teams each from Uzbekistan and Russia. Special prizes were also awarded to teams from India, Turkey, Brazil, Russia, Indonesia, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, and Ethiopia.
