The first All-Russian urban games will take place in Kazan on June 26-28. The event is coincided with the Youth Day, where modern sports popular with the younger generation will be presented.
Azat Kadyrov, Director General of the Directorate of sports and social projects, told today at a briefing at the Cabinet of Ministers that the competition will bring together more than a thousand athletes and 150 volunteers.
Ten main sports, including parkour, roller sports, flying disc and others, as well as 3 exhibition sports-teqball, mini volley and flyboard. Two sites were chosen as the venue for the games: the Gorky Park and the Extreme Park near the Millennium bridge, which will be prepared by the beginning of summer, said A.Kadyrov.
In addition, a large number of other sports tournaments of various sizes are planned in Kazan in 2020. First Deputy Minister of sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Khalil Shaikhutdinov said that Kazan is preparing to host the FINA World series in swimming, synchronized swimming and diving, international stages in rhythmic gymnastics, Rugby-7, motosurfing, and kurash.
Citizens and guests of the capital of Tatarstan are also invited to such competitions as the High Diving World Cup and the EuroHockey U18 championship, the Fencing World Cup.
In addition, this year the capital of Tatarstan will host the Russian Swimming championship 50 m and the Russian women's freestyle wrestling championship.
