The athlete has competed in European competitions for the first time since 2022
Kazan athlete Yulia Sokhatskaya has won gold at the Track and Field Championships in Serbia. A trainee of the FSO “Tsentralny” scored 5,731 points in the women's competition.
Following the imposition of sanctions on Russian athletes in 2022, this championship in Serbia marked the first time Russian track and field athletes had participated in European competitions. Other Russian athletes who also won medals included Polina Khramtsova (4,815 points), Matvey Melanchenko (6,048 points) and Olesya Barysheva (5,213 points).
Coach Natalia Latypova was preparing the athlete for the championship, according to the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports of Kazan.
On September 21, duathlon competitions for the Triathlon Federation Cup of the republic of Tatarstan will take place at Lebyazhy Lake. The competition includes running and cycling stages.
