Ilsur Metshin: «About 4,500 residents of Kazan rent out 11,000 apartments to tourists»

The average load rate for hotels and other accommodation facilities in Kazan has decreased compared to last year

In eight months of 2025, 3.3 million tourists visited Kazan, which is 6% more compared to the same period in 2024. The total amount of tourists expenses amounted to 29.1 billion rubles. On average, each guest spent about 3,270 rubles per day. Daria Sannikova, Director of the Tourism Development Committee, reported about this at the Business Monday meeting.

Over a quarter of tourist spending is spent on restaurants, cafes, and bars, with an average bill of 1,200 rubles. Nearly 80% of tourists visit public catering establishments. Among other categories, Daria Sannikova noted grocery stores, services, entertainment, and accommodation.

«For more than 10 years, we have seen steady growth in the number of tourists visiting our city. The figures are very good, with the volume of tourist spending in our city increasing by almost 22% over this period. We have reached the 29 billion rubles that have contributed to the economy and revenue of our small and medium businesses over the past eight months. This is income of hoteliers, restaurant employees, service providers, travel agencies, taxi drivers, and other businesses in our city», - said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.

As many as 236 certified accommodation facilities, which offer 8,412 rooms, and approximately 3,000 dining establishments serve tourists in the city.
